This universal word expressing an acceptance of destiny is concealed within a design suggesting a landscape. English speakers of all faiths and none invoke God’s assistance each day when they say goodbye; actually 'God be with ye'. Similarly, throughout the Middle East, regardless of religion, an awareness of 'allah', the Arabic word for 'God', is exhibited in everyday expressions. Even in countries where Arabic is not the local language, the expressions are widely used. An expression of excitement or delight may be 'mashallah', or 'God wills it'. But when expressing hope for the future, or a resignation to the outcome that destiny or fate foretells, one would say 'inshallah', which means 'if God wishes it'. The word has entered the English language in its own right, being without equal as a summation of our acceptance of fate and destiny in everyday life, for better or worse, good or ill. Whether it be the Spanish 'que sera sera', Turkish 'kismet', English 'thy will be done' or Arabic 'inshallah': what will be, will be.
